Qualifications:
High School Diploma required; Bachelor's Degree preferred.
Must have 7
years of hands on experience in a transportation/logistic supervisory role.
Must have knowledge of food industry quality standards; USDA required
Must have Strong knowledge of transportation management processes and systems
Must have experience negotiating freight terms and rates.
Must have a hands-on leadership style and ability to lead by example.
Must have effective communication, strong interpersonal skills and ability to work with a diversified work force.
Must be committed to safety and superior quality.
Experience with Union environment is preferred.
Excellent opportunity for an experienced Transportation / Logistic Specialist to join a leading food processing facility; this position is responsible for directing the inbound and outbound logistics functions.
Essential Duties and
Responsibilities:
Freight Optimization - Maximizing efficiencies
Carrier Evaluation and Selection
Load Tendering and Load Carrier Selection
Evaluation of potential TMS Software
Dock Scheduling - Inbound Deliveries and Outbound Shipments
Creation of Daily Dock Schedule
Main POC with Dock Manager
Carrier Compliance and Reporting
Shipping and Receiving clerical functions
Outbound Shipments
Carrier Check In
Print Shipping Documents
Print Invoices
Carrier Signatures
Carrier Check Out
Inbound Deliveries
Carrier Check In
Collection and archiving of inbound documents
Carrier Check Out
Must also be able to work OT and weekends as needed
Perform other duties as assigned
Background check and drug screening will be required
